Senior Solicitor, Office of The Director of Public Prosecutions, Sydney

Anthony Brookman began his legal career in 2005 as a volunteer at the Aboriginal Legal Service in Blacktown and Redfern, before commencing paid employment in their Care and Protection practice at St Marys. He then returned to criminal law at the ALS in Wollongong in 2006 and began at Legal Aid in Sydney in 2007. In October of that year, he took a position back at the ALS in Griffith, after which he returned to Legal Aid at Penrith in early 2009. He eventually returned to the city in 2013 via a stint at Legal Aid in Burwood. In 2017 he moved across to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. When the opportunity arose in 2022 to again work with First Nations people, he was delighted. He is now a Senior Solicitor at the DPP with a practise focused mainly on working in the therapeutic setting of the Walama List Court.
